Staying at Albergo Giardino was quite a mixed experience, especially for someone like me—an archaeologist who appreciates both history and hospitality. The hotel has its charm, particularly with its scenic location just 300 meters from the main square and a delightful restaurant serving local cuisine, where I enjoyed a hearty breakfast that included a solid choice of pasta and fresh vegetables from the buffet. The homemade desserts were a lovely treat too! I must say, the lack of air conditioning made our room unbearable with temperatures soaring over 35°C. Despite a polite request for an iron, I found out that wasn’t an option either. Our room, although clean and equipped with the essentials like free WiFi and a satellite TV, felt quite cramped. It was clear that this three-star family-run establishment had seen better days, yet it had a certain nostalgic appeal that made our stay memorable. While there are definitely some areas needing improvement, the friendly staff and the charming surroundings provided moments that reminded me of the rich cultural tapestry these regions offer. If you're looking for a short stay by Lake Garda, and appreciate a good breakfast and local atmosphere, then Albergo Giardino may just fit the bill—provided you're prepared for the warmth!
